Collaborative Growth and Workplace Wellbeing: Highlights from Our June DBN Meeting

It was fantastic to see everyone at Consett Rugby Club this morning for our latest Do Business Network meeting. The room was full of positive energy, collaborative discussions, and plenty of opportunities to explore how we can support one another through high-quality business referrals.

Prioritising Workplace Health

A major highlight of the morning was an insightful presentation by Bobby Hewitson and Karen Stubbings from Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), who we are absolutely delighted to welcome as new DBN members.

They shared valuable details about the Better Health at Work Award—a fully funded initiative dedicated to helping employers promote and sustain good health and wellbeing within the workplace. Taking care of your team is one of the most effective ways to build a resilient business, and this initiative provides the structured framework to make it happen. To find out how your business can get involved, you can visit their website at www.betterhealthatworkaward.org.uk.

Growing Our Business Community

The strength of DBN lies in its people, and our network continues to grow. Along with Bobby and Karen, we extended a huge, warm welcome to several other new members this morning: Gillian Keogh, Angela Blake (Y19 Management), Tom Lawlor (H&H Insurance Brokers) , and Mark Sillett.

Adding fresh perspectives and diverse expertise to the group only strengthens our collective ability to collaborate, share expertise, and generate meaningful referral opportunities.

Dates for Your Diary: Upcoming DBN Events

We have a busy summer ahead, with two major events designed to help you develop your skills and connect in a more relaxed setting.

  • Tuesday 30th June: Defeat the Business Time Thief with AI If you feel like there are never enough hours in the day, this upcoming funded workshop is essential. We will be exploring practical, straightforward ways to use AI tools to streamline your daily tasks, reclaim your time, and improve efficiency. Places are funded but limited, so secure your spot via the DBN Workshop Booking Page.

  • Wednesday 15th July: The DBN Summer BBQ Our annual summer social is back. Join us at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club for an evening of burgers, informal networking, and catching up with the business community by the water. It is always a popular night and a great way to build relationships outside the usual meeting room environment. Find out more and book your ticket on the DBN Summer BBQ Blog Page.

Thank you to everyone who attended this morning and contributed to such a productive session. If you missed this meeting, we hope to see you at the workshop on the 30th or the BBQ in July.
