DBN member Noriko Matsubara was over Japan this summer promoting her newly published Japanese edition of her picture book.
The highlight of her trip was the reunion with her Year 1 teacher, who came to Noriko’s book event at Hachinohe Book Centre.“I was so surprised to see my teacher there.” Noriko says. "We hadn’t seen each other for over 30 years but she still remembered me and told me she wasn’t so surprised to see me becoming a children’s author as I was a dreamy child who used to come up with stories that she couldn’t tell if they were real or from my imagination."
Noriko’s picture book series 'Bocchi and Pocchi’ are now available in seven languages including English, Spanish, Catalan, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Japanese.
