Paws, Pavement, and Community: Our Latest DBN Wag and Walk

Summer is prime time for holidays, but that does not mean business networking stops entirely. Earlier this week, a dedicated group of Do Business Network (DBN) members shrugged off the holiday lull to get outdoors, stretch their legs, and enjoy some proper connection during our latest netwalk—or as we love to call it, a wag and walk, complete with a few four-legged friends coming along to join the fun.

We gathered at the Land of Oak and Iron, based in Swalwell, Gateshead—a brilliant heritage site set on the grounds of the old coke works and historic railway line—before heading out for a lovely walk along the Derwent Walk, taking in the scenic trail that follows the River Derwent. Walking side-by-side in the fresh air offers a brilliant way to catch up, share ideas, and build genuine relationships away from the usual desk setup.

After the walk, we headed back to the cafe for a well-earned cup of coffee. That is when a fantastic local business crossover caught our eye.

We spotted a framed DBN membership poster proudly displayed in the window of the Land of Oak and Iron. Even better, we discovered that Kaffehaus—another valued DBN member—supplies the coffee for the venue. Seeing our members supporting each other out in the real world perfectly captures what our network is all about.

Building Stronger Business Communities

Networking does not always have to happen in a boardroom. Sometimes, the best conversations happen on a trail with a coffee in hand and a dog by your side.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this week. It is the strength of our community and these everyday collaborations that make the Do Business Network so special.
