On Wednesday, 15th July, Do Business Network gathered at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club for our second summer BBQ and sailing evening. We couldn't have asked for better weather—the sun was out, temperatures hit 23°C, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
Events like this remind us of the value of relaxed, face-to-face networking. Leaving the traditional boardroom setup behind gives everyone a chance to connect naturally, share experiences, and build genuine relationships.
A Team Effort
An evening like this only runs smoothly thanks to the people behind the scenes.
A big thank you goes to the volunteers from the club who managed the BBQ and kept the bar running smoothly throughout the night, with a special mention to Martin Price and Tom Lawlor for all their help.
Melanie was on hand throughout the evening ensuring everyone was looked after and properly fitted with life vests before heading out on the water. In fact, her effort to keep everything running seamlessly earned her a comparison to Miss Rabbit from Peppa Pig for taking on so many roles at once.
Out on the Water
The highlight of the evening was getting out on the Drascombe boats and experiencing the reservoir from a completely different perspective.
We extend a huge thank you to Rob Richardson and Anastasia for looking after our group and guiding us on the water. They once again demonstrated what a brilliant venue Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club is and highlighted the fantastic range of activities available there for the local community and local businesses alike.
Thank you to every member and guest who joined us and made the evening so memorable.
Join Us at Our Next Gathering
Our next event will be a relaxed Wag & Walk in August at the Land of Oak & Iron. It’s another brilliant opportunity to get outdoors, catch up in good company, and bring four-legged friends along too.
