It is hard to believe it has been six years since they launched as Durham’s very first coffee roastery. Sourcing, roasting, and sharing exceptional speciality coffee right from the heart of County Durham, this fantastic family-run business has gone from strength to strength.
A Journey Built on Expertise and Community
For those who have visited their roastery in Sacriston or sampled their coffees—like the Heritage Range featuring local nods such as the Miners’ Gala and Angel of the North blends—you will know that Kaffeehaus is driven by a deep passion for coffee culture.
Their journey actually began back with their traditional cafe in Lanchester, inspired by authentic Austrian and German filter coffee culture. Expanding into roasting six years ago allowed them to build direct, sustainable relationships with green bean suppliers and coffee producers worldwide, bringing a premium experience to home brewers and wholesale businesses across the UK.
Beyond roasting exceptional beans, the team shares their extensive knowledge through professional barista courses and home brewing workshops, proving themselves to be true experts in the North East speciality coffee scene.
