There was a fantastic energy in the room this morning as we gathered at the beautiful Beamish Park Golf Club. It was wonderful to welcome so many new faces to our community, and the room was filled with a genuine buzz of positive, productive conversation.
A huge thank you must go to Andy Hill, General Manager at Beamish Park, and his attentive team for hosting us so well. The hospitality was excellent, and it’s safe to say the bacon rolls and hot brews were a hit with everyone in attendance.
More Than Just a Meeting: A Networking Success Story
The highlight of the morning was hearing Andy share his own experience with the power of the network. Following an introduction to UMi through a DBN event last year, the club has undergone a significant transformation.
With UMi’s support in securing vital funding, Beamish Park Golf Club has been able to restructure and reinvest in its future. These improvements include:
Diversifying Revenue: The refurbishment of a previously unused flat into a new Airbnb listing, providing a fresh income stream for the club.
Retail Upgrades: A full upgrade to the professional golf shop.
Facility Improvements: Various ongoing enhancements across the site to improve the experience for members and visitors alike.
In a further testament to the "ripple effect" of our meetings, the club is also currently in discussions with the daughter of a fellow DBN member regarding the use of a room for her personal training business. This is exactly what DBN is about—creating a space where businesses can support one another and flourish together.
