Community remains at the heart of everything we do at Do Business Network. This past weekend, it was a privilege to attend the Willow Burn Hospice Gala Dinner at the South Causey Inn in Stanley. DBN was proud to support the event as a sponsor, contributing to an evening dedicated to a cause that provides essential care in our local area.
A Night of Generosity and Entertainment
The atmosphere at South Causey Inn was one of incredible energy and purpose. We were fortunate to be joined by Steffan Peddie, who served as the compere, speaker, and auctioneer for the evening.
Sitting alongside Steffan, we found him to be a true gentleman with a wealth of engaging stories. His ability to connect with the room was a highlight of the night; he kept the audience in stitches while ensuring everyone remained focused on the vital reason we were all there. His skill during the auction played a significant role in the evening's success, driving engagement and encouraging the room to give generously.
Celebrating Local Impact
The primary goal of the gala was to support the essential services provided by Willow Burn Hospice in Lanchester. Beyond their amazing end-of-life care facility, Willow Burn also serves as a vital respite centre, offering much-needed support and relief for families navigating difficult circumstances.
The dedication of the team is evident in everything they do. Special recognition must go to Rachel Quince, Ali English, and the wider Willow Burn team, who organised a seamless and memorable event.
Because of the collective efforts of the sponsors, organisers, and guests, the evening raised over £22,000.
Looking Forward
These funds are vital for the continued operation of the hospice and respite facilities, ensuring that they can provide comfort, professional care, and a supportive environment to those in our community. For DBN, being part of this event was a reminder of what can be achieved when local businesses and individuals come together for a common goal.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a phenomenal total. It was an honour to represent DBN and support the invaluable work of Willow Burn Hospice.
