KAFFEEHAUS - WE HAVE A NEW UGANDAN COFFEE!

A New Bean For Our St. Cuthbert's Journey Coffee

We have a few new coffees on the horizon which we're very excited to tell you about, but we're starting with a change to our St. Cuthbert's Journey.

The reason for changing up our St. Cuthbert's Journey coffee is that we ran out of our wonderful Rwandan beans from Rwamatamu.  It is not a permanent change, as we are committed to building a long term partnership with Rwamatamu, however we did need something to tie us over until their new harvest arrives and thus we have, for the interim, changed over to a Ugandan bean called Midnight Flyer from Agri Evolve.

We've used the Ugandan Midnight flyer for our St. Cuthbert's Journey before, as with an overall juicy sweetness and subtle notes of cereals and lime, it lends itself to a wonderful medium light roast which we also use in our Signature coffee blend and as part of our Balance Low-Caf coffee.

Fun Fact - The story behind the name Midnight Flyer:

Since the traditional Uganda processing method is natural, producing a washed coffee for the first time was a bit of a gamble, made worse when the trucks delivering the cherries to Agri Evolve got delayed, putting the crop at risk of over-fermentation. It was the middle of the night, and to get the cherries to the washing station on time, the drivers put pedal to the metal.  Peeling down a rain-soaked mud road, Agri Evolve's first washed coffee was literally flying at midnight.

But our new Ugandan Coffee here.
