UMi - BUSINESS ADVISER ROLE

  • Salary: £30,000-£38,000 per annum (depending on experience) + great benefits (including wellbeing days, employee healthcare cash plan, and hybrid working options)

  • Place of work: Navigators Point, Belmont Business Park, Durham, DH1 1TW (hybrid working available)

  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

At UMi, we make it easier for businesses to do more and go further.  As an adviser you'll be dedicated to helping business leaders identify what they need to do, how to do it, and who can assist them - which could be you, one of the team, or one of a network of support providers.

You'll play a pivotal role in our mission to support businesses, contributing to the delivery of public contracts and commercial contract work.  You'll work closely with our adviser team, utilising your skills, experience, and personal characteristics to provide guidance and make a significant impact to the businesses you work with.

What we’re looking for:

  • Business Acumen: A strong background in business or a related field, with the ability to give practical, impactful guidance.

  • Financial Understanding: Insight into how finance aligns with a company’s growth plans and the ability to assess the financial health, performance and potential of a business or project.

  • Customer Focus: A proven commitment to excellent customer service and building relationships that last.

  • Effective Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt your approach to different business contexts.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical thinking to help businesses navigate complex challenges and explore new opportunities.

  • Professionalism: The confidence and integrity to represent UMi and our values at all times.

  • Account Experience: Previous experience in managing a portfolio of business clients or cases.

This role would be perfect for someone with experience as: Business Adviser or Consultant, SME Account Manager, Economic Development Officer, Business Relationship Manager (Banking or Finance), Customer Success Manager (B2B), Project Officer in Business Support or Growth Programmes.

Pay
UMi staff are paid more than the National Minimum Wage and Real Living Wage.

Holidays
25 days holiday per year, to increase annually at 3 years’ service up to a maximum of 28 days.
