Melanie raises £500 for Willow Burn Hospice in memory of Gemma Justice

We are thrilled to announce that Melanie Cant hit her £500 fundraising target for Willow Burn Hospice after walking 20 mile to remember our friend Gemma Justice.

For those who don’t know Gemma she was a client of Melanie’s but also a member of DBN until she received her cancer diagnosis. Sadly she passed away in June at the age of 42 leaving her family and friends heartbroken 💔 Willow Burn Hospice had been a great support to Gemma and her family over the years so Melanie thought it was fitting to try and raise some money for Willow Burn in Gemma’s memory.

So on Saturday 2nd September Melanie and her friend Lisa put their walking boots on and participated in the Steel Town 20, an organised annual 20 mile walk which is becoming a popular event in our area.

Melanie said, “everyone has been so supportive, it was a great day and I got a lovely surprise when Gemma’s brother Craig meet us with his sons to walk part of the way! Thank you to everyone who has supported me especially Joanna Wellden and Natalie Chaters at Industrial Workwear Ltd Ltd who kindly supplied our lovely t-shirts.”

We’ve been told by a few people that the donation link wasn’t working for them over the weekend. All seems to be working now so if anyone would still like to donate you can via the following link: https://willowburnhospice.enthuse.com/pf/steeltown20dbn
