Remembering Gemma Justice

It saddens us deeply to share the sad news of the passing of Gemma Justice who lost her long battle with Breast Cancer in June.

Gemma and her husband Steven were DBN members for a time and have continuously supported our meetings with their warm hospitality when we have hosted our networking mornings at the Derwent Walk Pub in Ebchester.

After learning about Gemma's passing we thought it would be a nice idea to fundraise in Gemma's name and thought it would be fitting to donate any money raised to Willow Burn Hospice in Gemma's memory.

On Saturday 2nd September we’d like to invite DBN members to join us in participating in the Steeltown 20 walk which starts at Consett and takes you on a walking tour of the Derwent Valley.  Participants can walk 8, 14 or 20 miles depending on their level of fitness – it’s not a race. It is led at the front and route marshals accompany walkers throughout.

It costs £20 to register your place via this link:

https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?event_id=11864

Once you register to participate please let us know as we will order you a Willow Burn t-shirt to wear (courtesy of Industrial Workwear Ltd)

Willow Burn Hospice has provided a Fundraising Page for sponsorship donations: https://willowburnhospice.enthuse.com/pf/steeltown20dbn

At the moment we have three DBN members who are participating and we’d love for more to join in no matter how far you intend to walk.

We will be posting more information about this on our blog and socials. If you have any questions feel free to get in touch.
