Hello there, I’ve just released dates for the next Selling with Heart workshops which are June 26th and July 22nd.

The workshop is designed to help small business owners, who despite knowing sales make the money in business, dislike the idea of selling or feel uncomfortable.

My aim with this workshop is to help shift our mindset and by the end of morning we will have covered the seven steps in the sales conversation and leave delegates understanding that they aren’t ‘getting’ from clients but ‘giving’. Everyone will leave with fresh ideas and a fresh perspective that will have a real impact on their sales strategy.

The workshops are taking place at the Digital Sparkles office in Consett. Tickets are £50 and are available via my FB page (just look under "Upcoming Events") or by clicking on the image to the right.

Enjoy our Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal on Thursdays to Saturdays between the 20th March to 21st June. Prices are £49 per person Thursdays and £59 per person Fridays and Saturdays. Eat at our amazing Italian and American restaurant Pazzo while staying at our Stanley hotel and have access to our Early Bird menu.  Further details/terms and conditions can be found here.

Did you know that Hotel 52 are now offering their conference room free of charge for DBN members?

We will be starting to open on Friday Nights from mid May onwards for a selection of cocktails, beers, wines and some lovely light food.  Our launch event takes place on Friday evening, 10th May, 6:30 – 9pm. - please see details below, or click here.

Greg O'Connell of GOC Construction Management will be doing a 10km open water swim in Windermere as part of the Great North Swim on 9th June in aid of Co Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Charity.

The trust charity helps to provide critical equipment that the NHS trust can’t afford to deliver without outside support. Recently they have had appeals for new MRI scanners for Darlington Memorial Hospital along with the current Chemore appeal, which is raising money for a new Chemotherapy Unit at University Hospital North Durham. In addition to these large appeals, the charity raises money to supply training and smaller diagnostic equipment that benefits a huge number of people within our community. Anything that we can raise will make a huge difference locally.

Greg was recently interviewed by Peter Barron of The Northern Echo - the interview can be found here.

Noriko and Nathalie will be once again taking part in the Derwent Valley Literary Festival which runs from Friday 21st June until Sunday 30th June, culminating on the 30th with a whole day family event at the Land of Oak and Iron Heritage Centre.

Nathalie’s mobile French library bus will be there!  You can attend Noriko’s, Nathalie’s or any other events by checking out the festival’s website: https://derwentvalleylitfest.co.uk/#about-us.

Please support this lovely local initiative, now in its second year.  There is so much variety and it is going to be fun!

VENUE: Digital Sparkles, Consett

This workshop is designed to help small business owners or anyone who has to sell shift their mindset with regards to selling. By the end of the workshop, we will have covered the seven steps in the sales conversation and you will realise that you are giving to your potential clients as opposed to getting something from them.  You'll leave with fresh ideas and a fresh perspective that will have a real impact on your sales strategy.

Includes tea, coffee and biscuits. For more information, just click on the image to the right.

Vicky Smith, has been a physio for 26 years and five years ago she went self employed, working predominantly from a room at home.  When she reached full capacity and her husband Mark (also a physio) had started working within the business, they began the hunt for premises.

Cashing in her pension, they purchased an old baptist chapel in the heart of Langley Park and converted it into an amazing physio and wellness centre.  They opened the doors in June 2018 and to celebrate the anniversary, Vicky and her team of 17 are holding an open afternoon on 30th June to celebrate and to showcase some of their treatments, services and classes.

Vicky said "We'd love to see DBN members and if you'd like to try a free taster treatment or class, after you've signed up give us a call on 0191 373 1176 (at the time of going to print we have spaces for hot stone massage, sports massage, acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, bowen, hot yoga, kundalini yoga, qigong, pilates and aerial yoga).  Alternatively, pop down for a nosey, a glass of fizz and a cupcake!  We are also on the hunt for raffle prizes if you would be kind enough to donate to our raffle (all proceeds to be split between 'Feeding Families' and 'Upledger Community Programmes').  Thank you DBN for your support and encouragement!"

After many requests from those of you who have been unable to attend some of our DBOP Routes to Contract sessions in the past months, we are pleased to let you know that we will be re-running all three sessions from the programme so far.

If you haven't managed to make it along to any of our previous sessions, this is your chance to take part in a free, intensive bid writing course. If you have attended some of our previous sessions but not others, this is your chance to fill in any gaps in your knowledge.

Please see full breakdown of all three sessions below, along with booking links. If you are unsure which sessions you have previously attended or would like any more information, email me on laura@b2bnorth.co.uk and I will be happy to advise.

As always, these sessions are free and with refreshments provided, and will be led by B2B Director Garry Stone. Garry has helped businesses of all types and size secure their share of millions of pounds of contracts and tenders across the region and understands the challenges and issues from a real-life, practical perspective.
